“Checks are underway”: a man suspected of having killed Lilian Dejean in Grenoble was arrested in Portugal

Lilian Dejean, a 49-year-old father and municipal employee in the city of Grenoble, was shot in the chest while trying to prevent a man who had caused a traffic accident from fleeing.

The suspect, aged 25, whose identity document was found in the accident vehicle – a powerful rental car registered in Poland, an Audi RS3 – which he abandoned on site. The man, known to the justice services for “theft, violence and drug trafficking” but also for having beaten another prisoner with five fellow prisoners from the Varces remand center in Isère, has since been actively sought and was the subject of a European arrest warrant.
