Reactions to rocket attack: “Our crazy neighbor” – Zelensky reacts angrily to Russian rocket attack

According to information from Kiev, Russia has used an intercontinental ballistic missile for the first time in the war of aggression against Ukraine. It was an RS-26 Rubezh rocket. Russia also threatened Poland with an attack: Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the new US base there was on Russia’s list of targets for possible destruction. Internationally, the attack met with shocking reactions.

“Putin is using Ukraine as a testing ground,” writes Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was angry on Twitter: “Today our crazy neighbor has once again shown his true face: his contempt for dignity, freedom and human life itself. And above all, his fear. The fear is so overwhelming that they fire one missile after another,” he wrote on X.

It is obvious that Vladimir Putin is using Ukraine as a testing ground. Putin will do everything to keep his neighboring country under his control.

British Defense Minister accuses Putin of escalation

Great Britain’s Defense Secretary John Healey accuses Russian President Putin of an escalation in Ukraine. “We have seen a very clear escalation by Putin and his forces in recent weeks,” Healey told Parliament in London. They have expanded their attacks on the Ukrainian energy supply before winter and on civilian centers.

“They sent at least 10,000 North Korean soldiers to the front. And there are unconfirmed media reports today that Russia has fired a new ballistic missile into Ukraine, which we understand they have been preparing for months,” Healey told the Defense Committee. He spoke of a serious moment – the front line was less stable than at any time since the full-scale invasion began.

Warsaw firmly rejects the allegations

The Foreign Ministry in Warsaw firmly rejected Russia’s allegations in connection with the new US missile base in Poland. There are no nuclear missiles at the base, says a ministry spokesman. The base is intended for defense and not for attack.

Threats from Russia would only provide an argument for strengthening Poland’s and NATO’s air defenses. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova previously said the new U.S. base would increase the overall nuclear threat and was on Russia’s list of targets for possible destruction if necessary.

The base in Redzikowo, near the Baltic Sea coast, was put into service on November 13th. It is part of NATO’s broader Aegis Ashore missile shield to defend against short- and medium-range ballistic missiles.
