On the night of Saturday November 16 to Sunday November 17, a tragic accident occurred in Lorient (Morbihan), on the D465 road. A young 23-year-old driver, driving at high speed under the influence of alcohol, violently hit a car from behind, reports West . The latter was thrown against a vehicle coming in the opposite direction.

Jean-François Baudic, the driver hit, lost his life instantly, while his passenger, seriously injured, remains hospitalized. Heartbreaking anecdote from the story: the victim and the executioner knew each other. Indeed, Jean-François Baudic was a former teacher of the driver.

Panicked, the driver responsible tried to flee on foot after removing his license plates, but he was quickly arrested. Indicted for homicide and involuntary injuries, he was incarcerated on Monday.

A respected teacher

Jean-François Baudic, 50, was a respected and appreciated figure at the Colbert high school in Lorient, where he had taught engineering sciences for more than 12 years. Described by his colleagues as a calm, caring and involved teacher, he was also very popular with his students.

Father of two children, the latter was also a man passionate about cinema and music. A founding member of Radio Balises, a local community radio station, he participated in broadcasts, sharing his electro-pop favorites in monthly compilations.
