From orange to yellow… before returning to orange.
Vigilance for the “wind” parameter has been lowered by the Météo France services for the day of Thursday, November 21.
Consequently, Haute-Corse is on yellow “wind” alert throughout the day.
“The libeccio is quite strong in the western part of the departmentforecasters indicate. Gusts could reach 95 km/h during the day.”
The department will also be placed in yellow for the “rain-flood” parameter from 6 p.m. this Thursday. “The highest rainfall totals expected are 15 millimeters on the terrain.estimates Météo France.
The south of the island is currently no longer affected by any vigilance. A new yellow “wind” alert will come into effect from 5 p.m. At the end of the day, the Pumonti will also be affected by a “rain-flood” and “waves-submersion” vigilance.
“The maximum rain expected is around 15 millimeters on the relief, specifies Météo-France. The libeccio blows from quite strong to strong in places, with gusts reaching up to 100 km/h, locally, in the afternoon and at the end of the day.
Back to orange tonight
This Thursday evening, the whole of Corsica will once again be placed on orange alert for the “wind” parameter. The alert will be effective from 11 p.m. in both departments.
“In Corsica-du-Sud, the misstral will blow strong to very strong over the Far South, forecasts Météo France. Gusts could reach 130 km/h in the second part of the night. In Haute-Corse, the libeccio will generally be quite strong, with gusts reaching, locally, 120 km/h during the night.”
