Winter Storm Warnings for 2 counties

The first snow of the season is on the way for Western Pennsylvania.Parts of Westmoreland County and Fayette County are under a Winter Storm Warning. The warning will go into effect at 1 p.m. and last until 7 a.m. on Saturday. Wednesday marks the first of three impact days for the area with gusty winds and scattered rain expected for the afternoon/evening hours.The wind gusts could reach up to 35 mph.There will be a gradual clearing overnight with dry air moving into the area. Thursday afternoon, Pennsylvania can expect scattered rain and snow to mix. The flakes will fly for the first time this season. A second low will then land in our area on Friday bringing another round of scattered rain and snow showers. The best chance for accumulation will be in the higher elevations east. Another wave of energy passes late Friday/early Saturday keeping scattered rain/snow showers in the forecast. It looks to dry up for light up night and stay dry through Sunday.
