Guinea eliminated from CAN 2025, Syli National supporters name the culprits

The Guinea Conakry national team, Syli National, is officially eliminated from the race for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. A poor performance which provokes strong reactions among supporters and observers of Guinean , in a country where the football is a true passion.

After the defeat, social media was flooded with criticism aimed at the Confederation of African Football (CAF). According to some fervent supporters of Syli National, the governing body of African football has not fully assumed its role. The debates focus in particular on the controversial eligibility of a player from the Tanzanian team, Guinea’s direct opponent.

The refereeing body does not escape criticism either. A penalty not awarded to Serhou Guirassy, ​​the star striker of Syli National, is seen as a questionable decision having weighed heavily on the outcome of the match. For many supporters, this decision symbolizes arbitration deemed biased in favor of the opponent.

Beyond the criticism addressed to CAF and the referees, the Guinean community also points to the responsibility of the players. Their behavior on the ground, considered not very combative, is denounced as one of the major causes of the failure.
