Pierre Palmade was sentenced to five years in prison, including two years for his drug-induced road accident. He nevertheless emerges free, with deferred committal warrant, BFTV reported
The Melun court followed the prosecution's requisitions by sentencing Pierre Palmade to five years in prison, including two years for “aggravated involuntary injuries”, Wednesday November 20. The comedian emerged free from the court, since a deferred committal warrant was also announced during the judgment: “You will very soon be summoned by the Bordeaux prosecutor who will determine the date and the penitentiary establishment in which you will serve two years of detention”indicated the president of the court, whose remarks were reported by BFMTV.
At the end of the judgment, the lawyer for the civil parties, Me Mourad Battikh, declared that “the civil party is satisfied to have been listened to, heard, respected”but what“no judgment will live up to what (his) clients have experienced and that is why the sentence is indifferent to (them).
Pierre Palmade addresses the victims
The comedian was on trial for the road accident he caused on February 10, 2023, while under the influence of drugs. While he had consumed a large quantity of cocaine and 3MMC, Pierre Palmade took to the road and collided head-on with another vehicle in which three members of the same family, including a child and a pregnant woman, were injured. The latter then underwent an emergency cesarean section. Her unborn daughter was pronounced dead after 32 minutes of resuscitation.
This Wednesday, Pierre Palmade spoke directly to the victims, and asked “forgiveness from the depths of (his) being”. The 56-year-old comedian said “devastated to see the victims in real life” : “It’s a painful moment (…) I’m sad to have seen them in real life.”
