In the show The Kelly Clarkson Showon November 14, Hugh Grant made humor about his life as a father of a large family when he has reached a certain age and he does not always have as much patience as another dad younger.

Hugh Grant, an English actor aged 64, is the father of five children whom he had late in life (at the age of 50). His two eldest children (a daughter named Tabitha, aged 13, a son, Félix, who will be 12 on December 29) are the fruit of his former love for Tinglan Hong. From his sentimental history with his current wife, the Swedish producer Anna Elisabet Eberstein whom he married six years ago, were born John Mungo, in September 2012 and two other children, in 2015 and 2018. His youngest therefore came to the world when he was already 57 years old. On November 14, the actor was a guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show and he agreed to say more about his late fatherhood, which is not always easy to manage.

Frankly, Hugh Grant admitted to having “lots of fears” regarding his children, before making humor about the noisy environment in his home due to his large family. “I hide to sleep in the toilet”, he said with amusement, to explain how he manages to escape the noise pollution caused by his little ones. Still happy with his life as a father “vieux”, the British comedian revealed that he “aim[ait] good sometimes” when his youngest children cling to him with tenderness and insistence.

A dad moved by these moments of family joy

The male star of Bridget Jones then clarified with second degree that his age had repercussions on the way he experiences his fatherhood: “There are things to fear because of my advanced age, especially since family life is noisy and unbearable.” With a little more seriousness, Hugh Grant spoke with emotion about the chance to have a full life and children he loves: “It's nice. I come home at night, and you know, let's face it, the moment where they jump into your arms… My six-year-old daughter calls it her chimpanzee hug. I like that… “I made myself cry”, he added, touched by this daily happiness.
