Coluche: his beautiful gift to Jean-Jacques Goldman to thank him for La chanson des Restos (Zaptv)

Jean-Jacques Goldman, legendary and discreet artist, made a rare appearance in the documentary Restos du Coeur, 40 years of solidarity in broadcast on France 2 this Tuesday, November 19. Through this testimony, he shared his memories on the genesis of the emblematic anthem of Restos du coeur, as well as his unique link with Coluche, the man at the origin of this initiative.

The story begins in 1985, at a time when poverty was exploding in France. Coluche, upset by this situation, launched a project to help the most deprived: Restos du Coeur. It is in this context that the comedian decides to surround himself with talent to promote his initiative. Jean-Jacques Goldman gave a rare interview broadcast on France 2 this Tuesday, November 19. Maryse Gildas, present in the documentary Restos du Coeur, 40 years of solidarity in Franceexplains that Coluche had asked “who made hits”. The name of Jean-Jacques Goldman came up and according to the host, Michel Colucci asked to be called. Before specifying: “He didn’t know him that much.”

Michael Goldman's father, for his part, remembers perfectly this meeting which marked him: “I had met him, but I can't say that I knew him. Besides, I don't know if I ever knew him. Coluche, when he arrives in a dressing room, when he speaks, he has a power of conviction, of training. He was a leader! You say yes.

For performing the music of Resto du Coeur, Coluche made a gift to Jean-Jacques Goldman

To thank the interpreter of I give youthe actor of Banzai chose to give him a gift, a very strong gesture for Nathalie Goldman's husband. The singer told this anecdote: “One day he called me. 'Are you at home?' Because he was from too, I said 'well yes'. He said 'I'll be there' half an hour later. he's there with a guitar bag. 'Hey, this is a gift to thank you for the Restos song.' It was an old Gretsch; a great guitar. Afterwards I took him home.”

Shortly after, Coluche lost his life in a motorcycle accident in June 1986. The interpreter of Like you concludes this anecdote with sadness: “Unfortunately, a month later, he crashed.” Almost four decades after its creation, Restos du coeur continues its mission.
