Almost two years after the serious accident he caused, the trial of Pierre Palmade opened this Wednesday morning in Melun, for “unintentional injuries”. This crash on the roads of Seine-et-Marne led to the highly publicized fall of the comedian, under the influence of narcotics at the time of the tragedy. Entering the court through a back door to escape the swarm of cameras, Pierre Palmade sits on the dock between his lawyers, pale complexion, sunken face, staring into space. Called to the stand at the opening of the hearing, he stated his identity in a small voice. Faced with the president of the court, the actor indicated that he refused to be tried for “involuntary manslaughter”.
The drama dates back to February 10, 2023. That day, the man of theater and television took the wheel to go shopping, after several days of partying and unbridled drug consumption. On a road in the south of the department, his car collided with a vehicle approaching.
In addition to the actor, the accident left three seriously injured from the same family: a 38-year-old man, his six-year-old son and his 27-year-old sister-in-law, who lost the baby she was expecting after the impact. One road injury accident among the 52,000 recorded in mainland France that year.
