The situation between Russia and Ukraine has become particularly tense in recent weeks. The conflict is marked by an escalation and Vladimir Putin leaves doubt of a potential nuclear war.

The United States recently authorized kyiv to launch long-range ATACMS missiles on Russian soil, which the Kremlin perceives as a real threat. Vladimir Putin's response was not long in coming. The Russian president signed the decree on Tuesday expanding his possibilities for using nuclear weapons.

54 people for 48 hours

Russia also shared images of mobile anti-atomic shelters on Tuesday, of which it has started mass production, indicates Reuters. These are able to withstand “shock waves and radiation from a nuclear explosion”specifies the press agency. It is made up of two distinct parts: the first is a room, the second is a technical block.

This shelter is called the “Kub-M”. By being able to accommodate up to 54 people for a period of 48 hours, it is particularly effective against “explosions and shrapnel from conventional weapons, falling debris from buildings, hazardous chemicals and fires”specifies the research institute of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. However, living conditions inside are rather rudimentary.

“The mobile shelter is a multifunctional structure that provides protection to people from various threats, including natural disasters and man-made accidents”details the institute. THE “Kub-M” is particularly functional in times of war.

By revealing these images, Russia is reinforcing the threat of a possible nuclear war against its enemies, namely Ukraine and its mainly Western allies. “It was necessary to adapt our foundations to the current situation”declared Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Kremlin.
