Showman inside and outside the cage, spectacular fighter and unapologetic provocateur, Cédric Doumbé divides minds in France. For his part, the legendary Jean-Charles Skarbowsky, however, has a strong opinion on “The Best” which he recently reflected on in an interview.

When will we see Cédric Doumbé again in an octagon? At the moment, it seems very difficult to find an answer to this question. Last seen in action at Bellator Paris last May with a victory against Jaleel Willis, the former kickboxer has since left doubts surrounding his return to competition at the PFL.

If he will be present during PFL Lyon in December, it will not be to fight but to offer… contracts to young French athletes, nothing more. Unsurprisingly, this only adds a little more to the annoyance that many fans feel towards it, “Doumced” being very far from being unanimously accepted in France and has always been so.

An inveterate roommate, sometimes excessively arrogant, the legend of Glory has no equal in dividing minds. Either we hate him deeply, or we adore him just as much… and obviously, the legendary Jean-Charles Skarbowsky belongs to this second category, as he uncompromisingly explained on the YouTube channel Anthony Cera – Les Productions CERA :

Cédric Doumbé is a French superstar today, who has evolved combat sports, particularly MMA, since his time in the cage. It fills Bercy in a quarter of an hour, it's incredible. He's a great businessman, an excellent businessman, what he accomplishes is impressive. We all dream of having a career like his, of being as famous and earning as much money.

He succeeded thanks to his personality, his videos… He’s funny, and it works really well for him. I would love to meet him.

Unlike his many detractors, Jon Jones' advisor therefore thinks highly of “The Best”, about which he has added a layer:

I met him once during a gala that I was organizing, I don't remember exactly, but he was very kind, humble, polite, and reserved. Far from the image he can give with his trash talk. He seems like a good person, and if it works for him, it's probably because of that. When you're not a good person, you can't really be successful. You have to be cool with the people who help you, and that's what allows you to move forward..

Cédric Doumbé will never be unanimous, but JC Skarbowsky admires the Franco-Cameroonian and the way in which the latter has managed his career. The star's real personality would also be very different from the one he displays in public.
