Germany and Hungary play a draw

After a 1-1 draw against Hungary, Germany can go into the winter break satisfied. The group victory was already certain.

(sda) The German footballers are leaving the group stage of the Nationals League with a draw against Hungary. Julian Nagelsmann’s team conceded the equalizer in the 99th minute thanks to a penalty converted by Liverpool’s Dominik Szoboszlai, after Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha made it 1-0 with his first international goal in the 76th minute.

With 14 points and a goal difference of 18:4, Germany did well after only half-successful home European Championships in the Autumn Nations League. As the group winner and thus the seeded team, Germany will face Italy, Denmark or Croatia in the quarterfinals.

The draw for the quarter-finals on March 20th and 23rd will take place on Friday in Nyon. As in the three previous events, the quarterfinal winners will contest a Final Four at the beginning of June.

The teams will also be in action in March in the promotion/relegation playoffs. For example, Turkey, which missed out on promotion directly to League A due to a 3-1 defeat in Montenegro. Thanks to their 4-1 win against Iceland, Wales moved past the last matchday. In addition to the Welsh, the Czech Republic also achieved direct promotion to League A on Tuesday.
