Tuesday's bad weather caused multiple traffic incidents and road closures across Luxembourg, prompting motorists to exercise caution.
Major road closures and fallen trees
On the N11 near the Park Hotel in Dommeldange, a fallen tree blocked the road, leading to closures and causing significant traffic jams on the alternative route, the N7, between Eich and Walferdange.
Elsewhere, the road between Noertzange and Derenbach was also closed due to unfavorable conditions.
Fallen trees further disrupted traffic on several roads, including:
The N12 between Dondelange and Bour
The N27 between Insenborn and Arsdorf
The CR186 near Kockelscheuer
The CR345 near Dellen
The CR315 between Hareler Potto and Surré
Authorities are calling on motorists to remain vigilant and drive with caution.
Weather warnings for motorists
The Association of Luxembourg Motorists (ACL) warns of the potential risks linked to persistent rain since Tuesday morning. Motorists are advised to take care on slippery roads, particularly the risk of aquaplaning. The ACL calls on all road users to reduce their speed and adapt their driving to these difficult conditions.
The Météolux yellow alert has been updated to add a flood warning for southern regions of the country.
