The president of the National Rally group at the National Assembly will be received by the Prime Minister at Matignon to discuss the budgetary texts for 2025 on Monday, November 25 in the morning, BFMTV learned.
While the 2025 budget is currently being debated in the Senate, Michel Barnier will begin in the coming days a series of interviews with all the presidents of parliamentary groups, including the opposition.
This is the case of Marine Le Pen, head of RN deputies in the National Assembly, who will be received in Matignon by the Prime Minister on Monday, November 25, BFMTV learned from reliable sources.
“I hope that Mr. Barnier will listen to what Marine Le Pen has to say and that we can move forward,” comments Jean-Philippe Tanguy, RN deputy for the Somme, on BFMTV. “But the situation is serious and it is their responsibility,” he continues, affirming that his party “will not give in to the government’s blackmail.”
Will the RN vote for the motion of censure?
Because for several days, a little music has started to circulate in the corridors of the Palais Bourbon: in the event of 49.3 on the budget and a motion of censure tabled by the deputies of the New Popular Front, the parliamentarians of the National Rally could vote for it. And bring down the government of Michel Barnier.
“The censorship decision has not been made”, but “the government is taking the path”, summarized this Monday evening on BFMTV Jordan Bardella.
It would be enough for the 126 Lepénist deputies to support a motion tabled by the left to bring down the Prime Minister. A scenario that still appeared baroque a few weeks ago.
Emmanuel Macron declared this Tuesday, November 19, that he wanted political “stability” in France in the face of the growing threat of censorship from the government of Michel Barnier. “It is normal that there are parliamentary debates. I believe that the government, methodically, will continue with the forces of the common base which today constitute this relative majority and with the oppositions to move forward. I, wants stability. Our country needs to continue to move forward,” he pleaded.
