the new quadruplet of the infernal Victor Gyökeres, current top scorer in Europe

Viktor Gyökeres shone this Tuesday with Sweden on the last day of Nations League C. The serial scorer from Sporting Portugal scored a quadruple during the Scandinavian selection's great success against Azerbaijan.

Weak point: too strong. As often this season, Viktor Gyökeres once again hurt opposing defenders. Author of a quadruplet, the 26-year-old striker helped Sweden defeat Azerbaijan (6-0) this Tuesday during the last day of the Nations League C group stage.

First in group 1, the Scandinavian selection will therefore progress to the next level during the next edition of the continental competition. Unsurprisingly with nine goals in six matches, Viktor Gyökeres sits at the top of the scorers' rankings in this Nations League.

A standing ovation for Europe's top scorer

Arriving at Sporting during the summer of 2023, Viktor Gyokeres has been scoring goals for almost 18 months. This season, the 26-year-old Swede has already scored 23 goals in 18 games with the Lisbon club (including a quadruple on November 1 in the league) and also has nine goals (and four assists) with his selection since September.

Well helped by the opposing defense or served by caviars from his partners this Tuesday evening, Viktor Gyökeres ultimately failed to score the quintuple goal.

Replaced in the 89th minute of the duel against Azerbaijan, the striker received a nice ovation from the public at the Strawberry Arena in Solna. And to think he let Alexander Isak shoot – and miss – a penalty during the second half.
