Kidnapping and sequestration: six men arrested in Hérault in connection with drug trafficking
At the beginning of November, six men aged 21 to 34 were arrested in Hérault. They are accused of having kidnapped and assaulted a 19-year-old young man amid drug trafficking. The events took place last September, in a context of vendetta linked to the theft of narcotics.
According to information from France Blue Héraultthe alleged attackers, posed as members of the Marseille cartel of DZ Mafialured their victim by setting a trap via the social network Snapchat. This 19-year-old young man, who sold drugs and contraband cigarettes. He was suspected of having a link with a theft of 20,000 euros of drugs from one of the suspects, living in Clermont-l'Hérault.
The victim fell into a ambush. In the middle of the night, on September 11, 2024, he was kidnapped at the exit of his housing estate, in Péret. His captors, hooded and gloved, took him to an isolated place.
Witnesses noted the license plate of the 'kidnappers'
According to the young man, his attackers threatened him with weapons, including a rifle. They forced him to strip, beat him violently, and burned him with cigarettes, while forcing him to confront two aggressive dogs. Unable to provide them with the information they requested, he was abandoned in the wild, halfway between Péret and Clermont-l'Hérault, around 2 a.m. The victim, injured, returned to the family home on foot before filing a complaint.
Thanks to the testimony of residents who witnessed the kidnapping and noted the kidnappers' license plates, the Lodève gendarmes were able to identify the suspects. A revolver, ammunition, a machete, an American point, reinforced gloves, as well as 2,000 euros in cash and narcotics were discovered by the Hérault gendarmes.
