Lhe jurisdictional college of the Brussels Parliament ruled in favor of the three opposition parties, Ecolo, PS and Team Fouad Ahidar, who demanded new elections in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode. These groups had filed an appeal denouncing irregularities. The regional body has in fact noted a series of irregularities in the management of powers of attorney. And this, in proportions large enough to impact the distribution of seats on the municipal council. With 54 votes, Team Fouad Ahidar could have elected a municipal councilor. Within 127 and 247 votes, Ecolo and the PS could have obtained, for their part, one more.
For the three parties which contested the proper conduct of the vote, Emir Kir or, at least, members of his list clearly bear responsibility for these irregularities.
Emir Kir (Independent) has been mayor of the Brussels municipality since December 7, 2012.
