Rainy-snowy episode this Thursday: what to expect? – Weather news

With 48 hours to go, there remains great uncertainty regarding the risk of snow in . It is certain that a depression will circulate on Thursday from the south of Brittany towards the center of . This is accompanied by copious precipitation in our region and stormy winds on the Atlantic coast, mainly from the center west to Aquitaine. The nature of the precipitation in Brittany still remains uncertain.

Located in the middle of an air mass conflict, Brittany is mainly on the cold side while the Atlantic coast could remain mild.
The first precipitation reaches Finistère at the end of the night from Wednesday to Thursday then stays until the evening in our region. Penetrating inland then towards northern Brittany, precipitation could occur in the form of snow, first on the Monts d'Arrée, then on the Côtes d'Armor, Ille-et-Vilaine and the north of Morbihan. In the middle of the day, due to the progression of the mild sector towards the north, it is possible that this precipitation returns to rain or to mixed rain and snow in Finistère, Morbihan and the south of Ille-et- Naughty.
Conversely, at the end of the afternoon, the precipitation could return to snowy form in these latter sectors.

In terms of potential hold of the snow on the ground, the uncertainty is also significant. The interior of Côtes d'Armor and Ille-et-Vilaine are the two departments most likely to see the ground whiten, due to their more eccentric positioning from the air mass conflict.
