The disturbance which crosses a large northern half of France this Tuesday brings locally sustained rain and strong gusts of wind, including inland where gusts can reach 80 km/h. Although temperatures are relatively mild this morning in northwestern regions, they will not increase this afternoon. In Paris, the temperature is expected to remain around 12 degrees throughout the day.
This sweetness will be short-lived, because an air mass coming directly from the pole is preparing to sweep over France tomorrow. Temperatures will drop by tomorrow, with a local drop of more than 5 degrees in the space of 24 hours. Still mild temperatures
The mildness of the day promises to be truly deceptive, because a descent of polar air is about to sweep over France.
This morning, the minimums range from 2°C in Grenoble to 13°C in Brest and La Rochelle.
A drop in temperatures will begin at the end of the day in the far north of France, after the passage of the cold front.
In detail, at the start of the afternoon, 9°C is forecast in Aurillac, 11°C in Rouen and Lyon, 12°C in Paris, Lille and Strasbourg, 13°C in Nantes, 14°C in La Rochelle, 16°C in Bordeaux and Marseille, 18°C in Nice and 19°C in Perpignan. At the end of the day, temperatures will quickly drop a few degrees in the far north of the country.
Plummeting temperatures tomorrow!
The descent of polar air will have invaded a large part of France tomorrow, causing temperatures to fall several degrees below seasonal norms.
Temperatures will drop several degrees tomorrow afternoon. The drop will be locally marked, with deviations of 4 to 6 degrees compared to today. It is forecast tomorrow afternoon: 4°C in Nancy, 5°C in Reims, 6°C in Strasbourg, 7°C in Paris and Bourges, 8°C in Lyon and Nantes, 10°C in Brest and Montélimar, 11°C in Toulouse, 14°C in Bordeaux, 15°C in Marseille and Perpignan, 18°C in Ajaccio and 19°C in Nice and Bastia.
Snow in the plains Thursday
A major air mass conflict will occur over France on Thursday. In the confrontation zone, between the mild air present in the south and the cold air which will continue to sweep over the north, Snowfall is expected in several regions.
According to the latest forecasts, snowfall could occur between Brittany, Normandy, the south of Île-de-France, the Centre-Val de Loire region, Burgundy-Franche-Comté and the Alps.
This area affected by snowfall could further evolve depending on the movement of the depression over France on Thursday.
Indeed, the conflict zone could shift several tens of kilometers towards the north or the south.
