Airdrie residents should brace for a snowy start to the week. Up to nine centimetres of snow are expected over the next few days.

The first round of flurries is set to begin tonight, with two to four centimetres of snow anticipated before the morning. A west wind gusting up to 50 km/h will taper off this evening, leading to a low of minus six and a wind chill of minus eight.

On Monday, the snow continues, with another give centimetres expected throughout the day. Temperatures will remain chilly, reaching a high of minus minus with a wind chill near minus seven. As the evening approaches, the chance of flurries decreases to 60 per cent, and skies will clear overnight, dropping to a low of minus 12 and a wind chill of minus 15.

Cloudy conditions will dominate Tuesday and Wednesday, with a high of minus four on Tuesday. More snow is expected on Wednesday, and temperatures will drop to minus nine. The chance of flurries continues into Wednesday night, with lows plunging to minus 15.

Thursday and Friday will bring a break from the snow with a mix of sun and cloud, although temperatures will stay frigid with daytime highs near minus 10 and lows around minus 15. Snow could return on Saturday, with a 60 per cent chance of flurries and a high of minus 12.
