The Yonne elected official published a few days ago a screenshot of a message containing death threats received on his National Assembly mailbox.
National Rally deputy Julien Odoul filed a complaint this Monday, November 18 after receiving death threats, according to information relayed from France 3 Bourgogne and confirmed by the elected official to France Bleu Yonne.
This complaint relates to a message received in the mailbox of the Yonne MP, which he relayed three days ago on his X account. The sender claims to have paid “a 15 year old” 25,000 euros for ” put a bullet” to Julien Odoul, in front of the National Assembly or at his home. “Your days are clearly numbered,” the message reads.
Under his message, Julien Odoul calls on the Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau, who would have “indicated the vigilance measures to be taken”.
Threats on social networks
“I had already received threats as an elected official. But most of them were on social networks, on Facebook… This is the first time that I have had them in my mailbox from National Assembly, especially since [cette lettre] is very violent,” he told France 3 after filing a complaint.
Many elected officials from the National Rally expressed their solidarity with their colleague MP from Yonne, calling for the person who sent the message to be arrested and convicted.
