Guinea’s forward Serhou Guirassy leads the scoring charts for the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with six goals after Matchday 5 ended on Saturday.

The Germany-based attacker’s latest strike came in dramatic fashion as his stoppage-time goal secured a vital 1-0 win against DR Congo in Conakry.

The victory puts Guinea in pole position to secure qualification, needing only a draw in their final match against Tanzania.

Guirassy’s form has been instrumental in Guinea’s qualifying campaign, with his clinical finishing and ability to deliver in crucial moments standing out.

His six goals not only underline his importance to Guinea’s hopes but also position him as a key player to watch in the tournament proper should Sylli National qualify.

Morocco’s Brahim Diaz is the second-highest scorer with four goals, showcasing his attacking flair as his country prepares to host the tournament.

Behind Diaz is a cluster of players with three goals each, including Algeria’s Amine Gouiri, Cote d’Ivoire’s Jean-Philippe Krasso, Senegal’s Sadio Mane, and Cape Verde’s Ryan Mendes, among others.

As the qualifiers head into their final stages, the race for top scorer honors remains open, with Guirassy poised to extend his tally.

The final round of matches, set to conclude on Tuesday, will not only decide the remaining five spots in next year’s tournament but also provide an opportunity for players to shine.

The top two teams from each of the 12 groups will advance to the 24-team tournament, scheduled to take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
