Météo-France predicts a global drop in temperatures
Météo-France scientific teams predicted that the week would be marked by sometimes intense showers and strong winds in the northern half of the country. A polar air mass will invade the territory on Wednesday, causing temperatures to drop significantly to winter levels. The maximums will oscillate between 5 and 10°C during the day, which corresponds to values close to those usually observed in January.
With the arrival of very cold air at altitude, the snow is coming back on the massifs. In the Pyreneesit will fall above 1500 meters, while on the eastern reliefs, notably from the Vosges to the Northern Alps, the flakes will reach much lower altitudes, between 300 and 600 meters. Some episodes of melting snow could also occur on the Normandy hills. Furthermore, the wind will blow like a storm around Cap Corse.
