DJ Philippe Corti claims to have refused to participate in the new version of “Intervilles”

The return of “Intervilles” to the screen next summer, without the cows, is unleashing passions in some towns in the South-West. Philippe Corti, who participated in several seasons, also denounces this “sanitized” version of the program.

DJ Philippe Corti joins his voice to that of the mayors of , Mont-de-Marsans and . He also regrets, in Midi Libre, the return of the game Intervilles without the cows, under the leadership of Nagui. The DJ, who participated in the show from 2005 to 2008, as a musical host, sharply criticizes this choice of Télévisions.

“The great Parisian minds find it too popular and what’s more, there’s a southern accent!”, he says.

“It's a popular 'Intervilles' nugget, what are we going to serve? A half-cold sanitized platter without cowhide? Guy Lux must be turning in his grave!”

“Nagui is woke”

He also claims to have been approached to re-enter the program. And having refused to participate in this version without cowhide.

“Nagui asked me if I would like to come back if it was Intervilles. No, without cowhide, it's no. Otherwise we would have to do the swimming Olympics without water in the pool, on concrete! It’s right-thinking, Nagui is woke.”

Philippe Corti and Nagui rubbed shoulders on the set ofIntervilles in 2005, when the host co-presented the game with Patrice Laffont and Nathalie Simon. Questioned by France Inter in 2020, Nagui declared: “For two years, I saw what was happening with these animals and I do not want to reproduce that.”

The mayors of three towns in the South-West, Dax, Mont-de-Marsan and Bayonne, announced Thursday, November 14, that they would not participate in the new version of the cult show, scheduled for summer 2025.

“The cow, she’s having fun”

Like the mayors in question, Philippe Corti assures Midi Libre that the cows are not suffering. “The Landes cow, it is wild, playful, it has fun and it is typical of a region, these species will disappear due to the force of standards!”, he annoys.

Hailed by animal defenders, the idea of the host-producer Nagui to revive on France Télévisions next summer this game created in 1962, but without the cow test, irritates the bullfighting towns of the South-West .

France Télévision intends to limit the use of animals on filming, and the disappearance of cows, like the tigers in Fort Boyard a few years ago, is part of this code of conduct.
