Star Academy: this missed meeting with Grégory Lemarchal “served as a lesson” for Matthieu Gonet

In an interview given to Tele-LeisureMonday November 18, Matthieu Gonet, former coach of the Star Academy, spoke about his friendship with Grégory Lemarchal, winner of the fourth season of hook. “It serves me a little bit of a lesson,” he confided about this missed meeting with the singer, who died in 2007, at the age of 23, from cystic fibrosis.

He marked the history of Star Academy. In 2004, Gregory Lemarchal won the fourth season of the Star Academy, after a faultless run in the tele hook. A feat when we know that the singer suffered from cystic fibrosis – illness to which he succumbed three years later, in 2007, at the age of 23. Those who crossed Grégory Lemarchal's path all remember his smile, his strength and his determination, like Matthieu Gonet, former Star Ac' coach, who returned to the Château de Dammarie- les-Lys on the occasion of alumni week.

In an interview given to Leisure TVMonday November 18, Matthieu Gonet remembered his meeting with Grégory Lemarchal. “It was during the preparation of the first bonus. I had read in a magazine that there might be a sick student but I immediately asked the production not to tell me who it was. was acting at the end of the day, I was unable to know who it was and I wouldn't have put a cent on Grégory. I felt such a vital force in him, a desire to eat lifehe said. And to add: “He worked hard and participated in all the lessons despite his illness. Sometimes we had to tell him to take it easy. But he was also a great troublemaker who had no limits. At the castle, I remember fights over shampoos where we got in each other's faces.” Between the student and the tutor, a friendship was born.

“We had been planning to go to Disneyland for weeks”: this missed meeting between Grégory Lemarchal and Mathieu Gonet

“We both confided a lot about very personal things after he left the castle”confided Matthieu Gonet, who regrets not having spent more time with Grégory Lemarchal before his death. “At one point he had his own tour and I was also busy on my own so it was complicated but we spoke a lot by phone“, he slipped. And to admit: “It may seem completely anecdotal but we had planned to go to Disneyland for weeks and finally, we will never have done it. Today, it serves as a little lesson for me. With my loved ones, if we want to do something, I manage to take the time.”

The death of Grégory, who was “a real shock for everyone”, prevented them from experiencing this moment together. “Maybe think I’m crazy, but I still talk to him every day. He is still part of my life today“, concluded Matthieu Gonet. Angels never die.
