The Pastef party list, led by Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, won an overwhelming majority in the early legislative elections, according to partial results published this Sunday. These elections, organized to renew seats in the National Assembly, mark a political turning point in Senegal, consolidating the influence of Sonko and his party.

The Sàmm Sa Kàddu coalitions, led by the mayor of Dakar Barthélémy Dias, and Takku Wallu Senegal, led by ex-president Macky Sall, come in second position. The Jàmm Ak Njariñ list, supported by former Prime Minister Amadou Ba, also plays the leading roles, although in retreat in the face of Pastef’s domination.

This victory, hailed as historic by Ousmane Sonko’s supporters, also found an echo in the sporting world. Abdou Diallo, defender of the Lions of Téranga, celebrated this triumph on Instagram. He posted a photo accompanied by the party’s iconic slogan: « Jub – Jubal – Jubanti ».
