Situation
A deep depression is approaching the British Isles and causing an episode of turbulent weather which is setting up over the country with heavy rain and a sustained windy spell at the start of the week.
In the departments on YELLOW rain alert, the accumulations exceed 40 to 50 mm in total for the episode, or even very locally 60 to 70 mm, corresponding to 3 weeks of rain in the month of November.
Concerning the windy passage, gusts of more than 90 to 100 km/h are expected with peaks around 110 km/h, particularly in the Pays de la Loire.
This turbulent weather will spread to other departments during the week, with a certain evolution of our special press release.
Observation
At 12 p.mthe rains continue, gradually shifting further south. They are of moderate intensity and sometimes accumulate up to 6 mm/h.
A 9 hwe observed an area of heavy rain between the Alabaster coast and the Amiénois with rainfall intensities of 10 to 15 mm/hour. We recorded 53 millimeters of rain in Eu (Seine-Maritime), the equivalent of more than 15 days of rain, 40 mm in Oisemont (Somme), 26 mm in Aumont (Somme), 20 mm in Amiens (Somme) and 18 mm in Abbeville (Somme)
Evolution
The risk period extends from this Monday to Tuesday for rain and wind.
After the intense rainfall this Monday in the north, the rains will intensify on the Lorraine plateaus and the Vosges during the day on Tuesday.
It is Tuesday evening that the strongest wind episode is expected between the south of Finistère, the Pays de la Loire to the central regions then towards Franche-Comté during the night.
