This important role that Michel Blanc had in the Splendid troupe… thanks to his mother

This Sunday, November 17, Marie-Anne Chazel, Gérard Jugnot and Thierry Lhermitte were invited to 8:30 p.m. Sunday on 2. They returned to the creation of the Splendid troupe and the role played by Michel Blanc.

On October 3, Michel Blanc died following anaphylactic shock and a heart attack at the age of 72. The announcement of his death was a real shock for the public, but also for his friends and more particularly for the Splendid troupe of which he was one of the training members. They also paid him a beautiful tribute at his funeral. This Sunday, November 17, Marie-Anne Chazel, Gérard Jugnot and Thierry Lhermitte were invited to the set of 8:30 p.m. Sundayon France 2 to talk about the book The Splendid on the Splendid retracing the fifty-year career of the members of the troupe.

The important role of Michel Blanc in the Splendid troupe

Obviously, the three members of the troupe had a thought for their friend Michel Blanc. Thierry Lhermitte also revealed the important role he played for Splendid and the reason why he nicknamed him president. “We created the company, that's it, we created a tiny little SARL, but there was Michel and me. We were the two presidents and therefore we were called president and that's it“, he begins before Marie-Anne Chazel explains that if Michel Blanc had this role, it is because he knew how to do the accounts. “Because Michel's mother was an accountant, this gave him by heredity the status“, added Thierry Lhermitte. An important role that the actor owes to his mother's profession and what she taught him.

How Michel Blanc inspired the Splendid troupe in high school

Some of the members of Splendid met at a very young age, in high school. And it was Michel Blanc who was the first to get involved in theater and to motivate his comrades. “It was because he took lessons, that he had the right to repeat, therefore to skip a few lessons. And that gave me the idea to go with him“, confided Gérard Jugnot who was thus influenced by his friend. The story did things well, because they both became great actors thanks to their desire to miss a few classes in high school.
