Angel Gomes' England (LOSC) slaps Ireland and is promoted to League A

Opposing Ireland on the sixth and final day of the Nations League, England put on a show (5-0) in front of their home crowd and thus secured promotion to League A.

Was the London capital still a welcoming land for the Three Lions, defeated twice in their last three matches played at home? Well yes! Tied on points with Greece, the last defeat in front of its public, before this sixth and final day of the Nations League, England was obliged to win to definitively claim first place in its group, synonymous with promotion to the next level. Thanks to goals scored by Harry Kane, Anthony Gordon, Conor Gallagher, Jarrod Bowen and Taylor Harwood-Bellis (for his first selection), she validated her rise to League A this Sunday evening at Wembley. Objective fulfilled for Lee Carsley who was living his last on the bench, interim and soon replaced by Thomas Tuchel (January 1).

However, everything was not rosy for the Three Lions, dominant, but unable to put the slightest attempt on target before the break. It was the opening score that changed everything. Harry Kane scored his 69th national goal with a penalty which also meant Liam Scales was sent off. It was then easier to unroll. Anthony Gordon and Taylor Harwood-Bellis took advantage of this evening to score their first goal for the selection.

On an individual level, Angel Gomes started the game on the bench for the second time this Sunday. He still came on at the end of the game (79′) and contributed to the fifth and final English achievement (79′). He was also, as in with , penalized with a yellow card (89′) in the last minutes.
