Janja says she doesn’t have a first lady’s office due to ‘machismo’

First Lady Janja Silva stated that she considers the fact that she does not have the right to a formal cabinet, as is the case with President Lula (PT) and other authorities, to be “machismo”.

What happened

“If I want to produce a letter or something, I pay out of my pocket,” said Janja. In an interview with CNN broadcast this Sunday (17), she cited the examples of the United States, Mexico and Paraguay, which have structures of this type for first ladies.

The first lady of the United States has a cabinet and several other first ladies do. Just yesterday, I received a letter from the First Lady of Paraguay who, due to a health problem, cannot be at the G20 with us and (it was sent) from office of the first lady. I mean, from the First Lady’s office. I can’t even put this on paper. If I want to produce something, a letter, something, I pay out of my pocket and nobody knows that. I pay for the production of things out of my pocket. Card, everything is out of my pocket that I pay for, because I don’t have anything like that. The clothes I wear, everything. Everything, everything, everything comes out of there.
