Mika looks back on her first television and recalls an astonishing memory

We have been singing Mika at the top of our lungs for over 17 years. Friday November 14, Nagui reminded the singer of this date, invited in Taratatawhile watching his first television appearance, and the technical issues surrounding it.

Time flew by. Mika entered our lives and on our airwaves more than 17 years ago. This Friday, November 14, he was invited to Taratata. Nagui took the opportunity to show him the images of his first appearance on the show, in 2007. With longer hair and an ingenuous face, he then sang Grace Kellyhis first hit. After seeing the archive, the British singer had many things to say, including secrets we could never have guessed. “I was so scared! I was scared of you”he said laughing to Nagui. “I was afraid of the audience and if you look, I don’t think there’s a moment where I look at the camera. And my hand does this [tient le haut de son pantalon, ndlr]. I was also afraid that my pants would break!” The host, astonished, then told the audience: “We missed a lot of things!”

Mika reveals behind the scenes of the creation of his first songs

For Mika, focusing on this clothing fear, “It’s a distraction but it was also a protection because I composed this in my living room and finished in my bedroom”he remembers. “And I composed Lollipop on a train!” A way of giving himself courage and a form of connection with reality when everything he was experiencing now seemed like a waking dream. It must be said that success then very quickly took Mika on other adventures. Six studio albums, telecrochets in Italy and – notably The Voicewhere he officiated for 8 seasons. His career has not waned. Even today, the artist is applauded by thousands of spectators during his tours.

Mika's big decision regarding her appearances in France

If viewers liked seeing Mika in the red armchair of The Voicethey will have to give up. Indeed, he explained that he no longer wanted to be part of this adventure, despite his return last season. “In France, it's over, I stop all my broadcasts in France”. A decision for which he did not give any explanation but which should sadden those who liked to see him fight for his talents.
