Panama and Mexico strengthen bilateral relations in high-level meeting

He Chancellor of Panama, Javier Martínez-Acha Vásquez held a bilateral meeting with the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, in which priority issues for both countries were addressed, including trade, cooperation, migration, security and investment. During the meeting, the Mexican president expressed her solidarity with the Panamanian people in the face of the recent floods that have affected the country, in addition to expressing strategic interest in the Panama Canal.

Both leaders highlighted the historical ties that unite Panama and Mexico, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the bilateral relationship. As part of this effort, Mexican Foreign Minister Juan Ramón de la Fuente extended an invitation to Foreign Minister Martínez-Acha to visit Mexico, with the aim of coordinating a meeting between Presidents José Raúl Mulino Quintero and Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

Martínez-Acha stressed the importance of dialogue and collaboration as fundamental tools to face common challenges and take advantage of opportunities that promote mutual development.
