An old woman, a woman in the prime of life and a little girl waiting on a bench: it is “The Wait”, a pop work of color and light that the artist Marco Lodola created specifically for the Tuscany of Women.
The luminous sculpture, with stylized shapes and a vintage taste that shines in front of the facade of Palazzo Strozzi Sacrati it was inaugurated this morning by the president of the Tuscany Region Eugenio Giani and by Cristina Manetti, head of the president's cabinet at the end of “Pedale Rosso”, the ride for the values of equality and gender parity which arrived at 12 in Piazza Duomo.
Made of aluminium, almost three meters high, four meters long, Marco Lodola's bench wants to be a hymn to hope and the future.
““L'Attesa” – said the president Eugenio Giani – representing the succession of successive generations, tells everyone that we await a better future for women and for gender equality. We are working for this and we thank Marco Lodola for an exceptional work that will embellish Palazzo Strozzi Sacrati with a message of energy and beauty”.
“L'Attesa by the great Marco Lodola – said Cristina Manetti – whom I thank from the bottom of my heart, tells very well the essence of the Journey that the Tuscany of Women has undertaken, which looks to the future by resting on what comes to us from the generations that preceded us, from their battles and their dreams. We still have a long way to go, but we are building it and the light with which Lodola has illuminated the Wait is the light of strength and courage that we must never extinguish.”
After the inauguration, the Attesa will be located inside Palazzo Strozzi Sacrati.
