There is another fresh winner in Hamme: Niels Vandeputte is proud of himself in the Flandriencross

The cyclo-cross season remains a festival of new names at the front: Niels Vandeputte has won the Flandriencross in Hamme. Vandeputte, king of the close places of honor, held off Eli Iserbyt in an exciting final round. Thibau Nys fell.

What had been in the air for a while became a fact in Hamme.

The emerging Niels Vandeputte can win his first (classification) cross of the season with the Flandriencross. Wage for work.

The strong man from Alpecin-Deceuninck was always at the front in the chaotic cross in Hamme. When Thibau Nys kept his word and showed himself aggressive and attacking in the middle part of the match, Vandeputte – together with Orts and Vanthourenhout – was always alert.

And even when Eli Iserbyt seemed reborn after double bad luck and put everyone under firm pressure in the penultimate lap, he cleverly slipped along. – Without further ado.

Always agile on the technical strips and beams, always powerful in the mud. A combination that clearly paid off in the final round.

When everyone was at the end of their rope, Vandeputte pulled off a tour de force in the last kilometer. He made both Nys and Iserbyt crack and thus achieved a satisfying victory.

Iserbyt finished second, but Nys had a hard time at the end and ultimately only finished fourteenth. Felipe Orts took over his third place. We see few shifts in the rankings.
