Sunny and comfortable to start to the weekend!

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Welcome to the weekend! This evening will continue the calm and quiet weather we have seen through today. The second half of the weekend will likely be cloudy with scattered showers across the area. Southerly winds look to return today and bring back the humidity that will increase rain chances for Sunday.

As for Monday, the cold front arrives that should bring a quick round of showers and storms through Monday afternoon. The severe risk remains at a Marginal (1/5 risk) currently for the entire ArkLaTex, and this is due to how the front approaches. The line of storms should break apart as it enters the region and continue to break up as it meanders through the region. The main threat associated with this front will be gusty to damaging winds.

After the front moves through by Monday evening, temperatures will start to fall, but at a delayed rate. Highs for Tuesday will still be in the 70s, but highs for Wednesday will drop into the lower 60s, and lows could drop into the 30s! This would be well below average temperatures for highs and lows for this time of year! Fall weather is on the way, folks; just hang tight!
