The National Weather Service has issued a weather alert for areas likely to receive up to an inch of rainfall, with the heaviest precipitation expected Monday night into Tuesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, rain will move into the area Monday afternoon from the southwest, peaking overnight and tapering off by Tuesday afternoon. The highest rainfall amounts are anticipated in south-central Wisconsin, where storm drains and gutters may clog with leaves, creating ponding hazards. Residents should ensure drains are clear before the rain begins.

The extended forecast predicts mostly sunny skies early Monday before rain clouds take over, with temperatures reaching a high near 59°F. Winds from the southeast could reach 30 mph during the rain’s peak Monday night. Tuesday will remain cloudy with a high of 53°F as rain continues before tapering off in the afternoon.
