MONTANA – Snow and ice are causing hazardous driving conditions across the state, with several key routes affected. On Interstate 90, snow and ice are reported from Homestake Path extending to Butte, Anaconda, and Phillipsburg. Drivers should be cautious of black ice through Deer Lodge.
East of the Divide, snow and ice are affecting areas from Clancy down to Sheridan and east to Livingston. The Helena area is also experiencing snow and ice, particularly on Highway 12 over McDonald Pass through Elliston and onto Avon. Snowplows are active on Interstate 15 near Helena.
Conditions are similar south and east of Great Falls, and south of Interstate 90 from Cardwell to Ennis. Montana warns that Highway 287 north of Ennis has severe driving conditions. Crews have cleared an earlier accident to the side, but chains are required for towing units over Norris Hill.
Snow and ice are also affecting the area around Red Lodge and the stretch of Interstate 90 through Columbus towards Laurel.
In Wyoming, winter-like conditions are impacting travel as well. Teton Pass has a partial closure, with high impacts reported around Cody and east through Burgess Junction to Dayton. Conditions improve near the Sheridan area.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution and stay updated on road conditions.
