Digital Day Vaduz highlights the opportunities of AI

Digital Day Vaduz has been taking place annually since 2018 to educate the population about the opportunities and risks of digitalization. This year's Digital Day focused on the possibilities of AI. With free admission to the art museum, visitors were able to follow exciting lectures and discussions on the topic of AI, as well as experience digital attractions and learn practical tips, according to a media release.

It started with the opening event, which was fully booked with over 200 guests and could also be followed in the live stream. The digital day was opened with a video welcome message from Vaduz Mayor Florian Meier. Christian Frommelt, Rector of the University of Liechtenstein, then presented the first results of the second population survey on digitalization. More than 700 people took part in the survey commissioned by digital-liechtenstein.li.

Accordingly, the population in Liechtenstein perceives digitalization much more positively than in neighboring Switzerland and sees numerous opportunities in dealing with AI. In the worry barometer, increasing disinformation campaigns (“fake news”) and surveillance methods with AI are at the forefront. In the subsequent conversation with Liechtenstein's deputy head of government and economics minister Sabine Monauni and Bruno Winkler, program manager for digitization of the FL municipalities, moderator Peter Beck discussed how this is happening Artificial intelligence impacts politics and society.

Keynote by Sascha Lobo
According to the announcement, the highlight was the keynote speech by Sascha Lobo, one of the leading digital thinkers. He took the audience on a journey through the technological leaps of the past decades and showed why AI challenges economic as well as social and political certainties.

Digital Day Vaduz is organized by the organization digital-liechtenstein.li and supported by the municipality of Vaduz and the Liechtenstein government. digital-liechtenstein.li is under the patronage of the Princely House and the Liechtenstein government and brings together over 60 companies and organizations with the aim of developing Liechtenstein into a leading digital location.
