Not a single slalom rider from Italy will take part in the second round in Levi. That is the bitter record of the Azzurri in the far north. While Tommaso Sala is not yet in form due to injury, Tobias Kastlunger (+2.03) and Stefano Gross (+1.97) were disappointing. Both didn’t make it into the top 30. Alex Vinatzer didn’t make it to the finish after a good split. The man from Gardena was eliminated.

Things didn’t go well for Marcel Hirscher either. The eagerly awaited performance of the neo-Dutchman ended 2.59 seconds behind – Hirscher clearly missed qualifying for the final. Lucas Braathen, the second well-known comebacker, fared better. With start number 33, he managed to keep the gap under 9 tenths of a second and thus moved up to 10th place.

Clement leads ahead of Meillard

Clement Noel is in the lead after the first round in Levi. However, the Frenchman only has a minimal lead over Loic Meillard. The Swiss was 2 hundredths slower. Steven Amiez (FRA/+0.21) and Linus Straßer (GER/+0.30) are lying in wait in the other places.
