Members of the Polisario and the Cuban army among the victims of the plane crash

Since Friday November 15, Algeria has observed silence on the crash of a military transport plane bound for Tindouf. We learned that the Russian-made Ilyushin IL 76 aircraft was heading towards the Tindouf military air base.

The plane, which crashed in a region within the wilaya of El Bayadh, was transporting members of the Polisario armed militias, Cuban military instructors, as well as Algerian soldiers.

As a reminder, Brahim Ghali, on the sidelines of his participation in the November 1 festivities in Algiers, received the Cuban Deputy Minister of Defense, General Joaquín Quintas Solà. The two parties “examined the latest developments in the national cause, bilateral relations and questions of common interest,” the Front press agency summarized.

Immediately after this meeting, Algerian opponents announced the imminent arrival of Cuban military advisers in the Tindouf camps so that they could provide their expertise to members of the Polisario.

In Algiers, the Cuban general also had talks with the head of the Algerian armies, Said Chengriha, local media reported.
