The Young Farmers of Eure have “vegetated” radars to denounce the “environmental constraints” imposed, according to them, on French farms.
AGRICULTURE – A year ago, farmers expressed their fed up by turning over the signs marking the entrance to towns and villages. Twelve months later, 48 hours before a major national agricultural demonstration, the radars were targeted by the Young Farmers (JA), whose coalition with the FNSEA constitutes the first union force in the profession.
On the night of Friday November 15 to Saturday November 16, in Eure, the JA went to the D613 to obstruct dozens of radars, between Évreux and Lisieux, reports Actu.fr. Between 60 and 80 people participated in this mobilization which aimed to “vegetate” radars by covering them with branches, adds the local branch of France Bleu.

A symbolic action aimed at denouncing the “ever more drastic environmental constraints which have an enormous cost for French farms and are a brake on freedom of enterprise”, explains the departmental section of Eure des Jeunes agricoles, on X.

Renowned municipalities in Sarthe
Further north, in Sarthe, Young Farmers 72 and FDSEA 72 also mobilized on Friday evening. To show their dissatisfaction with the possible agreement between the European Union and the Mercosur countries, they covered town entrance signs with tarpaulins and renamed the municipalities with the names of South American localities. As spotted West FranceParcé-sur-Sarthe thus became « Copacabana »one of the most famous beaches in the world located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Prime Minister, Michel Barnier, reiterated his opposition on Friday to the trade agreement between the EU and the Latin American countries of Mercosur, while Emmanuel Macron intends to plead from Saturday in Latin America against the possible upcoming signing of this controversial free trade agreement, particularly feared by French farmers, who see it as an open door to illegal competition.
Before the national mobilization kicks off on Monday, November 18, new punch actions are planned. According to France Bleu, the Young Farmers of Eure will, for example, cover the town entrance signs during the night from Sunday to Monday.
