The title of Miss Universe is within reach for Laura Bircher (24) from Stans. She just has to prevail against 124 competitors at the grand finale in Mexico City.

Once again, women from 125 different countries present themselves on a stage, scantily clad, to convince a jury of their grace, intellect and performance strength. The 73rd Miss Universe pageant will take place today at the CDMX Arena in Mexico City. Laura Bircher from Nidwalden is also right in the middle as a representative of Switzerland. The 24-year-old won the title of Miss Universe Switzerland in September and qualified for the world finals.
The beauty contest is awaited with great excitement. Around four million viewers will watch the spectacle live on TV or online. The show starts at 7.30pm local time, in Switzerland it is already Sunday at half past two in the morning. (not)
