Sinner again in the final

Jannik Sinner was visibly in a hurry this Saturday. Indeed, during the 2nd semi-final of the ATP Masters, the Italian soundly defeated Casper Ruud in two sets (6-1, 6-2) and a little over an hour of play (1h10 to be exact) . In Turin, in front of an audience logically committed to his cause, the world number one was quick to join Taylor Fritz in the final of the “masters tournament”.

In the first set, the native of San Candido did not take long to take the Norwegian's service for the first time at 1-0, before having to work by saving two break points to lead 4-1. Behind, in a white station wagon, Sinner definitely stood out against Ruud, to whom he left only crumbs during this meeting. Still as authoritarian as he has been since the start of the week, the world number one then concluded this first set without trembling.

Subsequently, if the 7th in the world held on a little more, the latter ended up cracking against the still impressive Italian. At 2-2 in the 2nd round, Sinner put the accelerator back on and pocketed the four games that followed, just to fold the affair in no time. Like last year, the world number 1 will compete in the final of the Masters ATP 1000, but not against Novak Djokovic.

This Sunday, Sinner has a meeting with Fritz and will try to conclude his very good year in the most beautiful way. At home, the Italian will once again challenge the American against whom he leads three victories to one. As a reminder, after beating him in the final of the US Open last September, Sinner beat the future 4th in the world this week during the group stage (6-4, 6-4, last Tuesday). It remains to be seen whether the Californian will this time be able to worry the boss of the ATP circuit.
