Not again!
Late last night (Nov. 15, 2024), sources told MMAMania.com that fan favorite Nick Diaz is out of his scheduled fight at UFC 310, which will occur inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Dec. 7, 2024. Surging Welterweight prospect Trust Gorimbo will step in to replace Diaz and fight Vicente Luque.
This is the second time in 2024 that Diaz has withdrawn from a fight – the first was at UFC Abu Dhabi. Diaz pulled out of the fight due to travel issues, which made sense because the 41-year-old and the Middle East would have probably never happened.
No reason was given for Diaz’s withdrawal; however, last weekend, a troubling video surfaced of a shirtless Diaz lighting grass on fire.
Luque, 32, has not competed since Joaquin Buckley bludgeoned him in the co-main event of UFC Atlantic City (watch highlights). “The Silent Assassin” has lost three of his last five fights, two via finish, and now, he has seen his dream fight with Diaz dissolve twice.
The man replacing Diaz, Gorimbo (14-4), has been very active in 2024, fighting three times and made headlines last year when The Rock gifted him a house.
After Gorimbo’s last outing against Niko Price on Oct. 12, he said he’d happily fight Luque when Diaz pulled out … and his wish came true.
