A great first for Princess Anne. For decades, the daughter of Elizabeth II has sported the same voluminous locks, and more particularly the same high puffy bun that has become her iconic hairstyle over the years. However, if since the 1980s, she has never changed her hairstyle, the wife of Timothy Laurence decided to change her hair style for the first time. On November 9, Princess Anne went to the Royal British Legion Festival in London as part of the Festival of Remembrance. On the scene, she therefore appeared transformed.
Although it is not a radical change, the princess still made a slight modification to her mane since, at the age of 74, she decided to color her hair for the first time. The sister of King Charles III indeed had darker hair than usual, choosing to replace her usual light brown with a much browner coloring. A hair change that attracted attention. Although she changed her hair color, she did not change her signature hairstyle by sporting her iconic voluminous bun. A bun that she owes to her hairdresser Denise McAdam for over 50 years. The latter had also confided: “It was a simple up-do, so I used to go in, close my eyes and do it as quickly as possible.”

Princess Anne: a stylist invites her to change her haircut
If Princess Anne has had the same hairstyle for years, stylist Melissa Lund advised her to change her haircut. According to the expert, Princess Anne has sported the same voluminous locks for decades, and a change of hairstyle would, according to her, make her more elegant. In any case, this is what she explained in the columns of The Express in September 2023. On the fashion side, the specialist also noted that the princess's style had not evolved much over the years. But the risk is, according to her, that “her wardrobe looks outdated”. She therefore advised him to mix “vintage and modern pieces” in order to “to stay in tune with the times”, while emphasizing that “Princess Anne is fabulous because she absolutely doesn't care what people think about her lifestyle or fashion choices!”
