Urban Trail in : blocked streets and prohibited parking, everything you need to know

is preparing to welcome thousands of runners for the 6th edition of the Urban Traila popular sporting event that passes through the city's emblematic places. To allow participants to enjoy a unique route in complete safety, several streets and parking lots will be blocked. If you plan to travel on Saturday, take some precautions to avoid closed areas and better plan your trip!

Streets blocked and traffic prohibited

For this event, traffic will be completely prohibited, even for local residents, on Saturday November 16 from 1 p.m. and until 1 a.m. Sunday in the following streets:

  • Boulevard Vaubanbetween rue Jacquemars Giélée and boulevard de la Liberté;
  • Liberty Boulevard et boulevard Jean-Baptiste Lebas ;
  • Boulevard Louis XIVbetween boulevard Jean-Baptiste Lebas and boulevard Denis Papin;
  • Rue Patoubetween rue Jacquemars Giélée and boulevard de la Liberté;
  • Mathias Delobel, Cuvier and Petit Paradis avenues;
  • The Field of Mars (Petit Paradis and Liberté car parks).

Parking prohibited from Friday evening

If you live in the affected neighborhoods or plan to go to these areas, please note that parking will be prohibited from Saturday, November 16 at 1 a.m. (Friday to Saturday night) until Sunday, November 17 at 2 a.m. Here are the main parking areas impacted:

  • Republic Squareavenue Mathias Delobel, Citadelle bridge and Petit Paradis bridge;
  • Field of MarsLiberté (Effia North and South) and Petit Paradis car parks;
  • Rue de boulevard Vauban, boulevard Louis XIV, and square Daubenton.

Disruptions to the rhythm of the races

The streets will begin to be freed depending on the end of the races, under the supervision of the authorities. Three departures are planned: at 3 p.m. for the 10 km, at 4:30 p.m. for the 5 km and finally, at 5:30 p.m. for the 8 km Urban Trail starting from the Republic Square.

The racing program and entertainment promise a festive atmosphere with DJ setsa Brazilian batucadaand dance performances in various venues around the city. A great way to rediscover Lille, while remaining vigilant of disruptions!
