Canal+ is broadcasting “Un p’tit truc en plus” on television for the first time, after the incredible success of the film in cinemas. But in which idyllic location was Artus' film shot?

After having achieved 10.7 million admissions in cinemas, thus becoming the biggest success of 2024 in , the comedy Un p'tit truc en plus is broadcast this evening on Canal+. The opportunity to catch up on this film which has caused a lot of talk, and which features two gangsters (Artus and Clovis Cornillac) who take refuge in a summer camp for people with disabilities.

Artus had never seen this

Supervised by Artus himself, the filming took place near Malleval-en-Vercors in Isère, a location that caught Artus' eye as soon as he saw it, as said Mayor Christophe Durand to our colleagues in Parisian : “When Artus arrived here, he took his breath away. It was love at first sight. He immediately said: 'this is where we will shoot the film, and nowhere else!'”

The cottage did not have electricity!

The gîte (actually a converted barn)

In the film, young people with disabilities arrive at their usual holiday lodge but in reality, it was a “old uninhabitable 19th century barn, built in the middle of this incredible mountain pasture where cows graze in summer”writes Le Parisien. A barn… without the basic minimum!

“There is no electricity, no water, the road is tiny, impassable for production trucks”says the mayor. “It is so little used that it is partly covered with moss in the middle, Artus had never seen that.” To transport the cinema equipment, the mayor will actually bring out the snowplow, the only one capable of reaching the place.

The film crew stayed in the village, in the Les Galopins inn. The owner Philippe Ledner confides to Le Parisien: “[Artus] had wanted to stay a little further away, in a bigger place, but it was such a rush that it was more practical here, a stone's throw from the filming location. In the end, Artus found himself in the last remaining room, the smallest!”

Since filming, this room has been called… the Artus room.

Artus deprived of a shower?

“She didn't even have a shower, so every day, Artus had to cross the village with his towel to go wash at the communal gîte on the other side of the road. (…) He didn't take too much seriously, even if he was very studious, very preoccupied with the filming. Perhaps if the film is successful, it is thanks to the good vibes of Malleval, the energy of the mountains. , even during the heatwave that reigned during filming, thanks to the coolness of the altitude.”
