Laurent Weil recounts for the first time the ordeal he has overcome over the last two years

This Wednesday, November 13, TMC broadcast a special program entitled Michel Denisot n'aime pas les anniversaries to celebrate, both that of the Grand Journal, of Canal+ and of the journalist himself, all having reached a symbolic milestone (20 years, 40 and 80). Laurent Weil, present for the occasion, gave news of his health and spoke of the ordeal he has overcome over the past two years.

In July 2021, Laurent Weil, the essential French red carpet journalist, was absent from the Film Festival. Victim of serious health problems, Laurent Weil remained absent from Canal+ broadcasts for almost two years. It was in fact in July 2023 that the channel announced, on its Twitter account, the return of the 59-year-old journalist on air, on the occasion of the Cabourg Romantic Film Festival. This Wednesday, November 13 on TMC, Yann Barthès hosted a special show entitled Michel Denisot doesn't like birthdays to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Grand Journalthe 40th anniversary of Canal+ and the 80th anniversary of Michel Denisot. On this occasion, a large number of former and current collaborators of the journalist took turns on the TMC set, Laurent Weil included.

We listen to about ten and I'm going to ask you to choose one question each“, explained Yann Barthès before sending a sound on which we hear the voice of Michel Denisot asking these questions to guests of his shows. Among around twenty questions ranging from “Do you like each other?” has “Who are your friends today?“, passing by “Do you like dressing up?“, Laurent Weil found one to which he really wanted to answer: “Do you think life is worth living?“.
