The text was adopted unanimously, on first reading, in the Senate. It was then transmitted to the National Assembly.

“If the potential consumer wishes to be called regarding a product, it is he who gives his telephone number and who can therefore be called”specifies the senator from the Les Indépendants-République et Territoires group. This text aims to prohibit the “cold canvassing”when a company calls someone who has not requested it. According to the senator, “canvassing has killed canvassing” et “Today, it no longer works”.

Pierre-Jean Verzelen says this “convinced that in the National Assembly, it will be taken up fairly quickly and that finally, we will be able to move forward”. “We created the legislative tool” on which the government “can lean on” pour “change things about cold calling”he continues.
